The Dover Rug Co., a new 30,000-square-foot showroom on Route 9 in Natick, will host the entire 70-piece New Philharmonia Orchestra this Saturday for a "Carnival" to benefit the orchestra's educational outreach program.

With carpeting from Pakistan, India, Egypt, China, and Nepal, Mahmud Jafri's store should provide just the right acoustics for the orchestra's performance of Saint Saens's "Carnival of the Animals."

Jazz vocalist Rebecca Parris also will sing several selections with the orchestra. Pianists Leslie Amper and Randall Hodgkinson will perform music by Gershwin.

The black-tie-optional evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, accompanied by the Wellesley-based band Evolution. The concert is to start at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $150 for VIP table seating, $75 for theater seating, and $50 for "stacked-rug" seating. Tickets may be obtained at the showroom at 549 Worcester Road,or by calling 617-527-9717.

The educational outreach program of the New Philharmonia Orchestra presents family concerts in Wellesley, Newton, and Boston. It also sends the orchestra into Boston public schools, reaching 1,500 to 2,000 students a year.
