RUG REPAIR & RESTORATION
Dover Rug & Home offers cleaning and repair services to its customers. Cost estimates are always provided to the customer before work commences. Dover Rug & Home recommends that rugs used in high traffic areas be professionally cleaned and repaired once every two to three years. The professional cleaning process includes: re-weaving or repairing worn spots, replacing worn fringe, and moth protection.
PICK UP AND DELIVERY
Dover Rug & Home provides free delivery and pickup of all hand-knotted rugs it sells or services within our contiguous communities.
Having been in the rug business for many years, we know that Oriental rugs require special care and maintenance. Regular cleanings must be done to protect the rug’s beauty and value. Each rug has its own characteristics to consider, such as age, weave condition, and type of soils, when determining the cleaning method. At Dover Rug & Home, we have the hands-on experience and expertise to identify your rug’s characteristics and how they work together to present specific cleaning needs. Our pledge to take care of your rugs for as long as you own them is as unique as the rugs themselves.

Oriental Rug Appraisals: Our rug appraisals are more than just a size and a value. We want you to learn something about your rug. Believe it or not, there is quite a bit of history in your rugs that you may not even know. Of course, as licensed rug appraisers, we urge you to keep your insurance records updated. Call or email to schedule an appraising and we will send one copy for you and one for your insurance company.

We define the retail replace value of an oriental carpet to be the total amount it would take to replace a carpet. We take into account a carpet’s availability as well as it’s marketplace demand calculated, to the best of our ability, from factors such as origin, quality, colors and condition. The retail replacement value also factors in the time spent in finding the closest possible match of your rug.
Alternatively, we define the fair market value of an oriental carpet to be the true value of an oriental rug for today’s market. Given a buyer and a seller of equal knowledge and given both the buyer and seller are not under pressure to buy or sell, the fair market value is the price the transaction would be made every day assuming equal market conditions.
We define the salvage value of a carpet to be the fair market value the carpet carries after being damaged. This is done for insurance purposes to find the value of the carpet after things like water and fire damage.

If you are sending images by email, please also include the size of the carpet. We will derive the origin, type and age from your pictures of the front and back of the carpet.
